I have some questions about the area. My fiancé and I reside in Florida, we are looking for our forever town. We want to be on the coast and not in an over populated area. I came across Ocean Springs and it seems like a nice town. We would like to make friends we are 42 and 50, grandkids, and laid back.
We both have lived all over the country. A little history about that a little over a year ago, we moved to Texas thinking that was our forever home, 3 weeks later got by Hurricane Harvey. It was devastating! We were right in the path of the storm. We moved there after visiting thinking that it would be enjoyable. Well it wasn't! It was tough. The job market plummeted, housing became extinct due to the damage. Anyway skip ahead, had a temporary opportunity come available in Florida that we couldn't pass up. That is coming to an end. Now on to our forever home. What are the best areas to live in? How do people handle outsiders?

What we are looking for is a decent town with the feel of a small town (right now we are in an area of over 2 million people 😳 and 50,000 stop lights) We enjoy live music, festivals, nights out on the town. What makes this town stand out? What are things we have to look forward to if we move there.

We also enjoy good cuisine; Mexican food, Chinese, seafood, pizza, and breakfast.
Any recommendations? Places to avoid?

How about the job market?

Any information would be appreciated!
